My professional career ended due to a five-year battle with cocaine. I even sold my trumpets to support my addiction. I had tried drugs and alcohol, but it only led me to the end of a bad and bumpy road.
 
Every day for two years my sister faithfully prayed for me and for my salvation. Those prayers were answered one night in New York City when I lost my best friend to an overdose. The feeling of loneliness overwhelmed me as I realized all I had lost. It was as if my world and heart had exploded, and there was no escape from the intense pain. I remember wishing I could just die.
 
That night while sitting on the floor of an elevator, I felt something tug at my heart. I thought of my sister saying, “I’m praying for you.” Several times, I heard a voice in my mind and heart say, “I love you.” I wondered, “Is this God?” I yelled out loud, “You love me? Why? I have nothing left to my life. I have nothing to give you. Why would you love a nothing like me?”
 
At that moment I heard in my spirit, ”From nothing, I created all that there is; all that you can see. I will take the nothing you feel you are, the nothing you feel you have, and will give you the biggest miracle you could ever envision.”
 
Those words began to penetrate my mind and my thoughts. I cried out, “Ok, if this is you, God, I will trust in Your words.” Little did I know that his Word is Truth, and that Truth will set you free!
 
The Lord provided the miracle He promised. He let me live and gave me everlasting life. He gave back my gift of music… with His touch - His love - His life.
